Givi Shield on a Silver Wing

Ever wonder what the difference is between the stock shield and a Givi ? Well here it is, shown below. In this photos the install holes are lined up with both shields so, the difference is pretty accurate.  I tried to get a side view but really couldn't. It does appear that the profile of the 2 is pretty close and that the Givi doesn't begin curving back forward until above where the stock shield would end.

Clearview Vs Givi

The following is provided by Dan Spevak -- Thanks Dan!

Since I've had both, and I saw questions on another topic I thought I'd comment.

In each case I have purchased the tallest windscreen they make, as I like to look thru the glass.
There is a big arguement about looking thru vs. looking over.
If you look over the glass, than rain and debris on the windscreen can never obscure your vision.
If you look thru the glass, there is more protection for your eyes, and you tend not to get bugs in your teeth  :-)
It boils down to personal preference, not one right answer.  Its whatever is right for you.

If you take a look at the Givi windscreen, it starts at the bottom the way the normal one does, and the top turns vertical.
If you take a look at the Clearview windscreen, it keeps curving backwards toward the driver.

The shape of the GIVI deflects the wind nicely in the front, but for a not insignificant number of people, the wind that is
deflected comes back together just forward of the rear of your helmet, resulting in pushing your head forward a bit.
This can be really really annoying because it is alot of stress on the head over a long ride.  This doesn't happen on the
Clearview shields.

The Clearview has its own problems.  Over 70 mph the upper section begins to bend toward you.
This isn't dangerous at all.  I've had my bike up to 105mph according to the speedo. but if your view is at or near the top
of the windscreen (I am 5'6" and look a few inches below the top) the movement of the top is well within your vision.
To some that can be annoying.

Also I have found with the Clearview, that because of the extreme rake, there is a slight bit of magnification distortion in
the view thru it.   After riding with it for a few hours, it no longer annoyed me, but it did take some getting used to.

I do have the vent in my Clearview screen which is the one I ultimately decided to use, and its an awesome option.

Below is a picture comparison of the rake of the Givi compared to the rake of the Clearview.
